Abstract

U ovom radu ćemo proučavati Birkhoffov teorem i njegova poopćenja. Prvo poglavlje ćemo posvetiti analizi teorema u njegovom izvornom obliku koji se veže uz Einsteinovu teoriju gravitacije. To će biti ujedno i naš zadatak na početku drugog poglavlja prilikom kojeg ćemo i dalje promatrati sferno simetri čna rješenja Einsteinove jednadžbe, najprije za općeniti broj dimenzija, a nakon toga i uz neiščezavajući tenzor energije i impulsa. Zatim ćemo analizirati ponašanje Birkhoffovog teorema u Lovelockovoj te Chern-Simonsovoj gravitaciji. Tema posljednjeg poglavlja bit će Birkhoffov teorem uz približne simetrije.

Abstract (english)

In this thesis we investigate Birkhoff’s theorem and its generalizations. In the first part, we present the theorem in its original form. In the second part of the thesis we examine the behaviour of the theorem in arbitrary number of dimensions not just for the Einstein theory but Lovelock and Chern-Simons theory as well. In the case of Einstein theory (in 4D) we additionally investigate the situation with non-vanishing tensor of energy and momentum, i.e. non-vacuum case. In the last part of the thesis we present Birkhoff’s theorem with weakening the assumption of spherical symmetry.
