Abstract

Donji dio toka rijeke Krke proglašen je nacionalnim parkom zbog svojih prirodnih bogatstava. Međutim, samo 2 km uzvodno od granice parka nalaze se točkasti izvori zagađenja uz grad Knin, tehnološke i komunalne otpadne vode koje se bez adekvatnog pročišćavanja ispuštaju u okolne vodotoke te ugrožavaju i pitku vodu obližnjeg stanovništva. U svrhu procjene njihovog utjecaja na biotu rijeke Krke, u potočnoj pastrvi (Salmo trutta Linnaeus, 1758) su određene koncentracije metala u mišiću, koje potvrđuju njezinu sigurnu konzumaciju u ljudskoj prehrani. Izloženost zagađivalima procjenjena je i određivanjem biomarkera te je uočena inhibicija aktivnosti acetilkolinesteraze u mišiću riba ulovljenih kod Knina u odnosu na izvor, što potvrđuje izloženost zagađivalima, dok koncentracije malondialdehida u jetri ne ukazuju na oksidativni stres. Analize vode su potvrdile pogoršanje ekološkog stanja za pojedine fizikalno-kemijske čimbenike uz grad Knin te iako konzumacija pastrve ne ugrožava ljudsko zdravlje, potrebno je provoditi monitoring rijeke Krke u svrhu praćenja kakvoće vode i procjene rizika za floru i faunu.

Abstract (english)

Due to its exceptional natural value, downstream watercourse of the Krka River was proclaimed National Park. However, only 2 km upstream from the Park borders there are point sources of pollution near the Town of Knin, technological and municipal wastewaters, which are released without proper purification treatment in the surrounding watercourses, endangering the drinking water of the local community. In order to estimate their influence on the biota of the Krka River, metal concentrations were determined in muscle tissue of the brown trout (Salmo trutta Linnaeus, 1758) and their levels confirmed safe consumption of fish in human nutrition. Contaminant exposure was also evaluated by biomarker responses, which showed inhibition of acetylcholinesterase activity in muscle of fish caught near Knin compared to the Krka River spring, indicating pollution impact, while the concentration of malondialdehyde in the liver did not confirm oxidative stress. Water analyses pointed to deteriorated ecological water status regarding several physico-chemical parameters near the Town of Knin. Although trout consumption does not endanger human health, monitoring of the Krka River should be conducted in order to assess the water quality and potential risk for flora and fauna.
