Abstract

Niske obale često su vrlo gusto naseljena područja, kojima prijeti opasnost od
porasta razine mora. Stopa porasta razine mora ubrzano raste, a gotovo se ništa ne poduzima
kako bi se posljedice klimatskih promjena smanjile. Pacifički otoci i delte rijeka jedna su od
najugroženijih mjesta od posljedica porasta razine mora. Međutim, često si upravo
najugroženija mjesta ne mogu priuštiti kvalitetnu adaptaciju. Tamo gdje do adaptacije neće
doći, nastupiti će migracije. Kako bi se posljedice klimatskih promjena što više ublažile biti će
potrebna međunarodna suradnja.

Abstract (english)

Low-lying coastal areas are often very densely populated areas, at risk of rising
sea levels. The rate of sea level rise is rising rapidly, and almost nothing is being done to reduce
the effects of climate change. The Pacific islands and river deltas are one of the most endangered
places due to rising sea levels. However, often the most endangered places cannot afford a
quality adaptation. Where no adaptation will occure, migration will follow. International
cooperation will be needed to reduce the effects of climate change as much as possible.
