Abstract

Analizirana je zajednica makrobentosa na strmcima pod Strugom na južnoj strani otoka
Lastova. Park prirode Lastovsko otočje je osim po bogatstvu bioraznolikosti, posebno i po
fenomenu ITW valova (engl. island-trapped vawes) odnosno valova vezanih uz otok koji
pokreću dnevne promjene dubine termokline. Za potrebe projekta HRZZ- IP-2020-02-9524
„Utjecaj valova vezanih uz otok na primarnu produkciju“ ronioci su snimili fotografije, uz
pomoć fotografskih kvadrata (50x50cm), potrebne za određivanje sastava bentosa.
Fotografije su obrađene upotrebom računalnog softvera PhotoQuad. Određene su 32 vrste
bentoskih organizama od čega 10 vrsta spužvi, 10 vrsta algi, 5 vrsta mahovnjaka, 2 vrste
koralja, 2 vrste zvjezdača, 2 vrste mnogočetinaša i 1 vrsta obrubnjaka. Na dubini gdje nije
zabilježena oscilacija u temperaturi zamijećena je veća raznolikost, nego na plićim dijelovima
koje su bile pod utjecajem temperaturnih anomalija, ukazujući da fenomen ITW valova utječe
na bentos Lastova.

Abstract (english)

The community of macrobenthos on the slopes below Struga on the south side of the island
of Lastovo was analyzed. The Nature Park Lastovo archipelago is specific not only for the
richness of biodiversity, but also for the phenomenon of ITW waves (island-trapped vawes),
waves trapped along the island that trigger daily changes in the depth of the thermocline. For
the needs of the project HRZZ-IP-2020-02-9524 "Impact of island-related waves on primary
production" divers took photographs, with the help of photo-quadrats (50x50cm), needed to
determine the composition of benthos. The photographs were processed using the computer
software PhotoQuad. 32 species of benthic organisms were identified from which 10 species
of sponges, 10 species of algae, 5 species of bryozoans, 2 species of coral, 2 species of starfish,
2 species of polychaetes and 1 species of hydrozoans. At the depth where temperature
oscillation wasn't recorded greater biodiversity was observed than at the shallower parts
affected by anomalies indicating that the ITW phenomenon affects the benthos of Lastovo.
