Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu opisane su slampirane Prominske naslage na području Karina, Korlata, Novigrada i kanjona Krke i Čikole raspona starosti od srednjeg eocena do ranog oligocena. Analiza istraživanih naslaga i slampova omogućuje interpretaciju taložnih okoliša gdje vrlo česta promjena veličina čestica najvjerojatnije govori o čestoj promjeni bazenskih uvjeta. Naslage i sami slampovi izgrađeni su uglavnom od kalkarenita, kalklutita i manjim dijelom lapora. Istraživane Prominske naslage taložene su u Dinarskom predgorskom bazenu čija je površina uslijed tektonike borana i diferencirana u nekoliko asimetričnih subbazena. Istraživani lokaliteti nalaze se u subbazenima Krke, Čikole, Korlata i Novigrada. Lokaliteti Kistanje, kanjon Čikole, Karin i Korlat pokazuju smjer slampiranja prema JZ, dok lokaliteti Ključica i Novigrad imaju orijentaciju slampiranja prema SI. Smjer slampiranja je općenito okomit na pružanje rubova subbazena, a njihov prostorni raspored ukazuje da su subbazeni generalno bili strmiji duž sjeveroistočnih rubova, što je pogodovalo opetovanom slampiranju uzrokovanom najvjerojatnije sintaložnom tektonskom aktivnošću.

Abstract (english)

This Master’s Thesis describes slumps within the Middle Eocene to Early Oligocene Promina Beds in the areas of Karin, Korlat, Novigrad and the Krka and Čikola canyons. Analysis of the investigated deposits and slumps enables the interpretation of sedimentary environments, in which frequent changes in particle size most likely indicate frequent changes in basin conditions. The deposits and the slumps themselves comprise mainly calcarenites and calcilutites and marl to a smaller extent. The investigated Promina Beds were deposited in the Dinaric Foreland Basin, which was folded due to tectonics and consequently differentiated into several asymmetrical sub-basins. The investigated slumps are in the sub-basins of Krka, Čikola, Korlat and Novigrad. Slumps at localities Kistanje, Čikola canyon, Karin and Korlat are oriented towards the SW, while slumps in the area of Ključica and Novigrad are oriented towards the NE. The direction of slumping is generally perpendicular to the strike of the sub-basin margins, and their spatial distribution indicates that the sub-basins were generally steeper along their north-eastern margins, which favoured repeated slumping, caused most likely by syndepositional tectonic activity.
