Abstract

Bura i jugo najizraženiji su olujni vjetrovi istočne Jadranske obale. Mogu se klasificirati po sinoptičkom tipu na anticiklonalni, ciklonalni i frontalni tip, a po tipu strujanja bura može biti plitka ili duboka. Svaki sinoptički tip vjetra povezan je sa svojstvenim vremenskim prilikama. Predmet ovog istraživanja je strujanje registrirano na novoj Mikrometeorološkog postaji Maslenica. Na toj lokaciji u općem pregledu mogu se prepoznati dva dominantna vjetra uzrokovana sinoptičkim poremećenjima; bura je najjači i najdugotrajniji vjetar, a slijedi ju jugo. U radu prvo analiziramo epizode jake bure i juga, čije su karakteristike u skladu s očekivanima. Zatim se bavimo izraženim sjeverozapadnjakom dnevnog hoda u ljetnoj sezoni koji se ne može objasniti klasičnim modelom obalne cirkulacije. Stoga postavljamo novu hipotezu o termalno vođenoj cirkulaciji duž Velebitskog kanala koja bi mogla objasniti mehanizam čija je posljedica registrirano ljetno strujanje.

Abstract (english)

Bora and sirocco are the most prominent severe winds of the eastern Adriatic coast. With respect to the synoptic setup, we can identify anticyclonic, cyclonic and frontal winds and, specifically for bora, deep and shallow flow type. Each synoptic wind type is associated with specific weather conditions. This research is focused on wind flow at the new Maslenic micrometeorological station. In the general wind overview, on this location we noticed two dominant winds caused by synoptic disturbances; bora is the strongest and longest-lasting wind, followed by sirocco. In this research we analyze strong bora and sirocco episodes, whose characteristics we find as expected. Next, the prominent northwesterly diurnal flow in the summer season is of interest, which can not be explained by the standard model of land-sea breeze circulation. Therefore, we propose a new hypothesis about the thermally driven circulation along the Velebit strait which could explain the mechanism resulting in this summer wind flow.
