Abstract

Nanočestice se zbog svojih specifičnih svojstava koriste u različite svrhe. Veliki broj industrija
ih koristi u svojim proizvodima kao što su baterije, plastični ili metalni premazi, antibakterijska
sredstva te dijelovi elektroničkih uređaja kao što su elektronički čipovi. Povećana proizvodnja
i upotreba nanočestica na kraju rezultira ulaskom nanočestica u vodene ekosustave u kojima
zbog svoje veličine i posebnih svojstava mogu utjecati na vodene organizme. Proučavan je
utjecaj nanočestica bakrova oksida na zelene alge. Uslijed djelovanja nanočestica bakrova
oksida dolazi do povećanja količine reaktivnih oblika kisika, peroksidacije lipida, smanjenja
aktivnosti antioksidativnih enzima te inhibicije rasta stanica alge.

Abstract (english)

Due to their specific properties, nanoparticles are used for various purposes. A large number
of industries use them in products such as batteries, plastic or metal coatings, antibacterial
agents and parts of electronic devices such as electronic chips. The increased production and
use of nanoparticles eventually results in the entry of nanoparticles into aquatic ecosystems
where, due to their size and special properties, they can affect aquatic organisms. The influence
of copper oxide nanoparticles on green algae was studied. After exposure of algae to copper
oxide nanoparticles, there is an increase in the amount of reactive oxygen species, lipid
peroxidation, a decrease in the activity of antioxidant enzymes, and the inhibition of algae cell
growth.
