Abstract

Najzapadnija hrvatska županija, Istarska županija, ima visoku gustoću naseljenosti i razvijen prometni sustav. Cestovni i zračni promet u stalnom su porastu. Ipak, prometni sustav Istre karakteriziraju i određeni problemi, a ponajviše je to neadekvatna povezanost željezničkom prugom s ostatkom Hrvatske. Cilj rada je, na temelju dosadašnjih istraživanja, terenskog pregleda, proučavanja znanstvene i stručne literature, kao i vizualizacije dobivenih podataka uz pomoć GIS alata, detaljno proučiti svaki od prometnih sustava, uvidjeti njihove prednosti i nedostatke te dati prijedloge za njihovo poboljšanje. Rezultati ukazuju na visoku razvijenost cestovnog i zračnog prometnog sustava, dok je sustav željeznica u izrazito lošem stanju. Samim time, dani su prijedlozi za poboljšanje svakog pojedinog sustava kako bi se Istarska županija u potpunosti integrirala u prometni sustav Republike Hrvatske.

Abstract (english)

The westernmost Croatian county, Istria County, has a high population density and a developed transport system. Road and air traffic has been steadily increasing. However, the transport system of Istria is also characterized by certain problems, and most of all it is inadequate connection between the Istrian railway line and the rest of Croatia. The aim of the paper is, based on the research, field review, study of scientific and professional literature, as well as visualization of the obtained data with the help of GIS tools, to study each of the transport systems in detail, to see their advantages and disadvantages and to make suggestions for their improvement. The results indicate a high level of development of the road and air transport systems, while the rail system is in extremely poor condition. Therefore, suggestions were made to improve each individual system in order to fully integrate the Istrian County into the transport system of the Republic of Croatia.
