Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
The purpose of this study was to identify organic minerals in urinary calculi. Calcium oxalates, whewellite and weddellite, are the most common organic minerals in calculi. Uric acid calculi crystallizes in anhidrous (uricite) and dihydrous form. Kidney stone disease is increasingly common. The identification of the chemical composition and morphology is important for understanding their etiology and proper management. Calculi were subjected to infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that the whewellite and hydoxyapatite are most common compound. Other minerals such as weddellite, uricite and uric acid dihydrate are found.
