Abstract

Članovi porodice gena asr rasprostranjeni su po dijelu biljnog carstva te ih ne pronalazimo izvan njega. Oni dijele zajedničku strukturu od dva eksona te jednog introna. Dualnom lokalizacijom u citosolu te jezgri, Asr proteini djeluju kao šaperoni te transkripcijski faktori. Ulogu Asr proteina možemo vidjeti tokom rasta i razvoja biljaka, prilikom dozrijevanja plodova, ali i prilikom odgovora biljke na različite nepovoljne uvjete. Asr proteini služe kao regulatori ekspresije gena što je najbolje prikazano upravo u odgovoru biljaka na stresne uvjete. Ovi proteini povećavaju ekspresiju drugih gena važnih za povećanje otpornosti biljke regulirajući time višestruke biološke procese. Prvotno otkriće kodirajuće sekvence Asr proteina u rajčici potaknulo je mnoga istraživanja navedenih proteina u raznim vrstama sa stajališta raznih znanstvenih područja kao što je biokemija, stanična biologija, evolucija, fiziologija, epigenetika te u novije vrijeme i biotehnologija. Istraživanje mehanizama obrane biljaka u različitim abiotičkim stresnim uvjetima je vrlo važno za razumijevanje pozadinskih signalnih putova, ali i za unaprjeđenje genetskih modifikacija agronomski važnih biljaka.

Abstract (english)

Members of asr gene family are spread through a part of the plant kingdom and are not found outside it. They share a common structure of two exons and one intron. Asr proteins act as chaperones and as transcriptional factors due to their localization in cytosol and in nucleus. The role of Asr proteins can be seen during growth and development of plants, fruit ripening, and plant response to different abiotic stresses. Asr proteins act as regulators of gene expression, which is best shown in the plant response to stress conditions. These proteins increase the expression of other genes important for increasing plant resistance, thereby regulating multiple biological processes. The original finding of the coding sequence of tomato Asr protein initiated many research projects of these proteins in different species from research groups spanning multiple fields such as biochemistry, cell biology, evolution, physiology, epigenetics and in recent time, biotechnology. Investigating plants defense mechanisms in different abiotic stresses is very important for both understanding the underlying signaling pathways and improving genetic modifications agronomically important crops.
