Abstract
Ražena glavica (Claviceps purpurea) je gljiva iz porodice Clavicipitaceae, koja parazitira na travama, pretežito raži. Njezini metaboliti ingestijom uzrokuju morbidne simptome kao što su konvulzije, gangrena i halucinacije, u nekim slučajevima smrt. Na temelju svoje strukture također su našli korisno mjesto u medicini, te su kao takvi imali veliku ljekovitu važnost kroz povijest i u suvremeno doba. Cilj ovog rada je opisati povijesni utjecaj ražene glavice na ljudske populacije širom svijeta, definirati osnove njene ekologije i fiziološkog učinka ergot alkaloida na ljude i životinje, te predočiti karakteristike skupina, odn. pojedinih alkaloida i ukazati na njihovu farmakološku primjenu u medicini.
Abstract (english)
The Ergot of rye (Claviceps purpurea) is a fungus of the Clavicipitaceae family, which parasytes on grasses, predominantly rye. Its metabolytes, when ingested, cause morbid simptoms, such as convulsions, gangrene and hallucinations and in some cases death. Based ontheir structure they have also found a useful place in medicine, where as such had great remedial value throughout history and the modern times. The goal of this work is to describe the historical impact of the ergot of rye on human populations thoughout the world, to define the basics of its ecology and the physiological effect of ergot alkaloids on people and animals, also to present the properties of both groups and individual alkaloids and to imply on their pharmacological applications in medicine.
