Abstract
Alfred Tomatis je među prvima razjasnio pozitivan učinak glazbe na mozak i razvio metodu za stimuliranje živčanog sustava glazbom. Kratkoročan utjecaj glazbe se naziva „Mozartov efekt“ i nema trajne posljedice na mozak. Dugoročan utjecaj glazbene poduke potiče razvoj mozga i njegovu plastičnost. Ona je najveća u djetinjstvu, ali glazba može potaknuti povezivanje živčanih puteva i kod odraslih osoba. To omogućuje primjenu glazbene terapije kod osoba s neurološkim oštećenjima, kao što su disleksija, Parkinsonova bolest, moždani udar i demencija. Glazba najviše utječe na emocije, kognitivne i motoričke sposobnosti.
Abstract (english)
Alfred Tomatis was among the first to explain positive effect of music on the brain. He developed a method using music to stimulate nervous system. Short-term positive effect on spatial abilities is called the "Mozart effect“ and has no permanent consequences on nervous system. Long-term influence of musical training benefits brain development and brain plasticity. Although brain plasticity is strongest in childhood, it can be stimulated in adults. Therefore it is possible to use music therapy in treatment of neurological deficits like dyslexia, Parkinson's disease, stroke and dementia. Emotions, cognitive and motor abilities are most affected by music.
