Abstract

U radu se prikazuju promjene prostorne strukture gradske četvrti Peščenica-Žitnjak s naglaskom na prostor Peščenice. Mnogi procesi i čimbenici utjecali su na njenu funkcionalnu, socijalnu i morfološku preobrazbu. Rad prati razvoj prostorne strukture Peščenice od početka 20. stoljeća kada se zbog povećanja broja stanovnika grad širi na istok planskom, ali i neplanskom izgradnjom koja je nastavljena do današnjih dana. Danas je aktualna prenamjena zemljišta s industrijskom u poslovnu namjenu.

Abstract (english)

This thesis presents the changes in the spatial structure of Peščenica-Žitnjak district with an emphasis on Peščenica area. Many processes and factors have affected its functional, social and morphological transformation. The thesis traces the development of a spatial structure of Peščenica from the beginning of the 20th century, when due to increase in population the city begins to expand eastward, both planned and unplanned, what continued until today. Today conversion of industrial land to business use has become actual.
