Abstract

Ovaj rad analizira otok Brač kao prostorno-ekonomsku cjelinu i objašnjava utjecaj geografskih čimbenika na njegov ukupni regionalni razvoj. Istraživački naglasak stavljen je na administrativno-teritorijalnu organizaciju otoka Brača kako bi se razjasnili problemi s kojima se suočavaju jedinice lokalne samouprave pri provođenju razvojnih strategija. Posebnosti prostornih procesa unutar otočnog sustava upućuju na specifičnost otočne razvojne strategije. Na temelju analize stanja u prostoru određeni su ciljevi, prioriteti i mjere regionalnog razvoja.

Abstract (english)

This paper analyzes island of Brač as a spatial-economic integrality and clarifies impact of geographic factors on its regional development. Research emphasizes administrative-territorial organisation in order to explain the difficulties which local governmental units face whilst implementing development strategies. The particularities of spatial processes inside the island system indicate a specific type of island development strategy. Based on spatial analysis goals, priorities and measures of regional development were determined.
