Abstract

Naizgled obično i periferno ruralno naselje skriva bogatu i dugu povijest postojanja, koja je i velikom dijelu domicilnog stanovništva nepoznata. Nekadašnji grad-tvrđa i centralno naselje postalo je selo i centar istoimene općine. Krenuvši od samog smještaja i položaja, preko prirodnih obilježja i povijesnog razvoja, dolazi se do temeljnih društvenih obilježja promatranog područja. Razmotren je značajan utjecaj Rakovca u prošlosti i njegovo gubljenje utjecaja danas. Također su analizirani prirodno-geografski utjecaji i njihovo značenje u društvenom razvoju. Pojašnjeni su društveno-gospodarski razvoj, njegovi potencijali i pretpostavke budućeg razvoja. To su temeljne odrednice na koje je ovaj rad pokušao dati odgovor.

Abstract (english)

Seemingly uncluttered and peripheral rural settlement hides a rich and long history of existence, which is in a big part unknown to the local population. The ancient old town and the central settlement became the village and the center of municipality. Starting from the it’s setting and location, through the natural characteristics and historical development, one comes to basic social characteristics of the observed area. A significant impact of Rakovec in the past and its loss of influence today have been analyzed. The natural-geographic influences and their importance for social development have been analyzed too. The socio-economic development, its potentials and requirements for future development have been clarified. These are the basic determinants to which this paper has tried to give answer.
