Abstract

Promet se ističe kao jedna od osnovnih djelatnosti ljudskog društva te danas igra veliku ulogu u organizaciji i razvoju prostora, modificira prostor i način života te uspostavlja vezu između naroda i njihovih kultura. Razvijen prometni sustav omogućuje brz i jak gospodarski napredak određenog područja. Prostor Varaždinske županije svojim prometnogeografskim položajem predstavlja dio sjeverozapadnog spoja Republike Hrvatske prema europskim prometnim sustavima. S obzirom na visoku gustoću naseljenosti i veliki broj naselja, ali i veliko prometno-geografsko značenje ovog prostora, prometni sustav Varaždinske županije dobro je razvijen. Planirana izgradnja brze ceste Varaždin-Ivanec-Krapina ima veliko značenje za sjeverozapadnu Hrvatsku zbog povezivanja dvaju županijskih središta, Varaždina i Krapine. Cilj rada jest prikazati i analizirati sadašnje stanje prometnog sustava Varaždinske županije te ukazati na perspektive njegovog daljnjeg razvoja koji prelazi okvir same županije.

Abstract (english)

Transportation stands out as one of the main activities of human society and plays a major role in today's organization and development of space, modifies space and way of life and establishes a connection between the people and their cultures. A developed transport system provides quick and strong economic progress of a particular area. The area of Varaždin County represents the northwestern part of the Croatian circuit to European transport systems with its traffic-geographical position. Given the high population density and a large number of settlements, but also a lot of traffic geographical significance of this area, the Varaždin County transportation system is well developed. The planned construction of a fast road Varaždin-Ivanec-Krapina has great significance for the northwestern Croatia because it would connect the two county capitals, Varaždin and Krapina. The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the current state of the transport system of the Varaždin County and to indicate the prospects of its further development, which go beyond the county itself.
