Abstract

Urbani sistem se sastoji od tri glavne dimenzije: hijerarhijske, vremenske i prostorne. Ovaj rad obrađuje sve tri dimenzije urbanog sistema Australije. Glavno obilježje je koncentracija gradova na obali kontinenta kao posljedica surovih klimatskih uvjeta u unutrašnjosti zemlje. Australija ima velik postotak urbanog stanovništva. Razlozi tome su mali broj zaposlenih u primarnom sektoru, razvijenost sekundarnog i tercijarnog sektora koji su smješteni uz gradove. Razlika između Australije i ostalih razvijenih zemalja je u demografskim obilježjima. Naime, Australija bilježi značajan prirodan prirast, unatoč svojoj razvijenosti. Glavni demografski faktor su imigranti. Zbog stalno rastućeg gospodarstva, danas sve veći broj imigranata useljava, pogotovo mlađe bioreproduktivno stanovništvo te poboljšava demografsku sliku.

Abstract (english)

Urban system contains of 3 main dimensions: hierarchy, temporal, spatial. This thesis analyses all three dimensions of Australian urban system. Main attribute is concentration of coastal cities as the effect of rough climatic conditions. Australia has large percentage of urban population. Reasons for that are low number of agricultural workers, highly developed secondary and tertiary sectors which are situated near or in cities. Difference between Australia and other developed countries is in demographic characteristic. Australia is recording substantial natural growth of population, despite it's development. Main demographic factor are immigrants. Because of the constant growing economy, today more and more immigrants enter the country, especially younger bioreproductive population and improve demographic situation.
