Abstract

U radu se analizira prostorni utjecaj međunarodne biciklističke utrke „Tour of Croatia“. Analiza ciljeva utrke i mogućnost njihova ostvarenja na prostoru rute i Republike Hrvatske daje konačnu ocjenu potencijalnog uspjeha ove utrke. Definiranjem geografskih informacijskih sustava i primjerima primjene GIS-a te kratkim uvodom u koncept biciklističkih utrka dolazi se do konkretnog zadatka rada - analize prostornih mogućnosti uspjeha ciljeva utrke čija analiza počinje trenutnim stanjem ciljeva utrke. Usporedbom turističkih dolazaka po općinama i rutama etapa analiziraju se mogućnosti povećanja broja turističkih dolazaka te zatim slijedi analiza etapa u kojoj je primarno analizirati mogućnost promocije prirodnih ljepota kroz zaštićena prirodna područja Hrvatske te dodatno uz analizu trenutnog biciklističkog infrastrukturnog stanja i mogućnosti prilagodbe rute cikloturizmu, odnosno rekreativnim biciklistima kroz analizu hipsometrije svake etape. Zaključak nam pokazuje velike mogućnosti razvoja cikloturizma i biciklističke infrastrukture te veliki potencijal promocije Hrvatske, no negativnost je zanemarivanje Istočne Hrvatske, regije s najmanje turističkih dolazaka, na čijem prostoru nije održano ovogodišnje izdanje utrke.

Abstract (english)

This thesis presents spatial analysis of international cycling race „Tour of Croatia“. By analyzing goals of the race and the possibility of their accomplishments, the success of this sporting event will be determined. Thesis starts with introduction of geographic information systems and consist its definition and application, followed by short explanation of cycling races. Main analysis starts with the brief overview of the current status of goals of the race, followed by comparison of the race route and tourist arrivals on the local level. Further on, by analyzing each of the five race stages through current cycling infrastructure, national beauties possible to present to television viewers (protected area by law) and altitude differences, the race goals realization possibility is defined. Conclusion gives an answer to the goals of the race, with positive spatial influence of the race, as there are great possibilities for developing cycling infrastructure and cycling tourism as many national beauties for promotion of the country. Negative side is that route of the race does not pass eastern Croatia, where tourism is the least developed.
