Abstract

Zelena Istra obuhvaća prostor unutrašnje Istre koji je poznat po karakterističnoj arhitekturi, malim gradićima na brežuljcima, bogatstvu kulturnih materijalnih i nematerijalnih dobara. Suvremeni turisti sve su zahtjevniji i tragaju za novim iskustvima doživljavanjem tradicionalnog načina života lokalne zajednice, sudjelujući u kulturnim manifestacijama te posjećujući kulturno-povijesne spomenike koji govore o tradiciji i identitetu. Resursi koje ima Zelena Istra, uz kvalitetnu interpretaciju i uključivanje lokalne zajednice, predstavljaju veliki potencijal za daljnji razvoj kulturnog turizma na tom području. Raznim strategijama i projektima radi se na iskorištavanju tog potencijala, a koji bi doveo gospodarske revitalizacije, produljenja turističke sezone pa čak i rasterećenja priobalnog dijela Istre od masovnog turizma.

Abstract (english)

The Green Istria covers the area of inland Istria, which is known for its characteristic architecture, small towns on the hills, the wealth of cultural material and immaterial goods. Modern tourists are becoming more demanding and looking for new experiences experiencing the traditional way of life of the local community, participating in cultural events and visiting cultural and historical monuments which tell a lot about tradition and identity. Resources that has the Green Istria, with quality interpretation and involvement of the local community, represent a great potential for further development of cultural tourism in this area. With various strategies and projects it is trying to make the best of this potential, which would lead to the economic revitalization, extension of the touristic season and even to unburdening the coastal part of Istria from mass tourism.
