Abstract

Utvrđuju se razlozi koji su doveli do današnjih obilježja i funkcija turizma na otoku Hvaru. Težište rada je na problematici jednog od novih oblika turističkih proizvoda u svrsi omogućivanja održivog razvoja na otoku. Riječ je o korištenju lavande u turističke svrhe. Dosadašnji turizam se bazira većinom na ljetnom kupališnom obliku te su potrebni novi selektivni oblici turizma i upotpunjavanje turističke ponude otoka Hvara. Rad prikazuje dosadašnji utjecaj lavande na turistički prostor Hvara kao i poziciju lavande kao svojevrsnog brenda otoka Hvara. U konačnici predstavlja se mogućnost za razvoj i primjer problemskih područja u daljnjem razvoju turizma kao i uzgoja te obrade lavande na otoku.

Abstract (english)

At first the reasons that have led to the current factors and functions of Tourism on the island Hvar are determined. The focus of the paper is on the proposal of a new tourism product in the hope of keeping the flow of Sustainable Development on the Island. Tourism, to date, has been mainly focused on the summer beach going tourists and is in need of new selective forms of tourism and a year-round diversification of opportunities for tourists on the Island. The paper shows the role of Lavender on the touristic area of Hvar as well as the position of Lavender as one of the brands of Hvar. In the end it shows the possibility for development and an array of problem areas in the further development of tourism as well as production and processing of Lavender on the Island.
