Cruising turizam kao selektivni oblik turizma danas je prisutan diljem svijeta te ga možemo gledati kao masovnu pojavu koja je namijenjena svim segmentima potrošača bez obzira na životnu dob i socio-kulturni status. Dinamičan rast potražnje za cruising turizmom u svijetu bilježi se od druge polovice 1980-ih godina. Abstract (english)

Cruising tourism as a selective form of tourism is present today around the world, and we can consider it to be a global phenomenon which is designed for all segments of consumers, no matter of their age or socio-cultural status. The dynamic increase of the demand of the world`s cruising tourism has been registered since the second half of the 1980s. In 1998, a greater number of cruisers was registered in Dubrovnik, and ever since it has been a constant and increasing trend, which... More resulted in not less than one million cruiser tourists visiting Dubrovnik in 2013. As the number of cruisers and cruiser tourists has increased during the years, the noticeable influence on the transformation of Dubrovnik has emerged through the physiognomic-functional, economic and socio-cultural transformation, besides the potential environmental problems.
