Varaždinska županija problem trajnog zbrinjavanja otpada nastoji riješiti zajedno s ostalim županijama sjeverozapadne Hrvatske osnivanjem regionalnog centra za gospodarenje otpadom na području Koprivničko-križevačke županije. S obzirom na udaljenosti do regionalnog odlagališta otpada potrebno je radi smanjenja troškova na području Varaždinske županije odrediti pretovarne stanice otpada kao poveznice između mjesta skupljanja otpada i konačnog odlagališta. More geografskog informacijskog sustava (GIS) i metode analitičkog hijerarhijskog procesa (AHP), a na temelju postojeće prostorno-planske dokumentacije i evaluacije prostora prema utvrđenim kriterijima, odrediti optimalne lokacije pretovarnih stanica otpada na prostoru Varaždinske županije. Za izbor optimalne lokacije pretovarnih stanica otpada potrebno je odrediti i razraditi relevantne kriterije, kao i utvrditi relativnu važnost pojedinih kriterija sa svrhom objektivnog višekriterijskog vrednovanja prostora. S obzirom na postavljene kriterije i osobitosti županije važno je odrediti broj i razmještaj pretovarnih stanica kako bi se smanjili ukupni troškovi gospodarenja otpadom u Varaždinskoj županiji. Kao optimalne lokacije određene su lokacije u Paki i Beretincu, ali se zbog komparativnih prednosti kao jedinstvena lokacija za pretovarnu stanicu otpada čitave županije predlaže lokacija Beretinec. Abstract (english)

Varaždin County is trying to solve the problem of permanent waste disposal together with other counties of north-western Croatia, by founding the regional centre for waste management in the area of Koprivnica-Križevci County. Regarding the distances to the regional landfill, it is necessary to select the sites of waste transfer stations as a connection between the place of waste collection and its final landfill. More transfer stations in the area of Varaždin County, by using geographic information system (GIS) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, based on the existing spatial-planning documentation and space evaluation based on determined criteria. For the selection of optimal location of waste transfer stations, it is necessary to determine and elaborate relevant criteria, as well as to determine relative importance of some criterions with the aim of objectively multi-criteria valorisation of the space. Regarding the set criteria and characteristics of the county, it is important to determine the number and arrangement of transfer stations, in order to reduce the total expenses of the waste management system in Varaždin County. Paka and Beretinec were selected as optimal locations, but due to the comparative advantages, Beretinec was proposed as unique location for the waste transfer station of the entire county. Less
