Abstract

Hrvatski otoci prostor su dugog i intenzivnog demografskog nazadovanja koji je započeo još u 19. stoljeću. Na dugu povijest depopulacije nakon Drugog svjetskog rata nadovezale su se i promjene socioekonomske strukture stanovništva uvjetovane unutarnjim i vanjskim čimbenicima. Navedeni procesi imali su svoj odraz na okoliš koji je kroz stoljeća bio sustavno degradiran, pri čemu je najveću šteta doživjela vegetacija. Recentne socioekonomske promjene uvjetovale su napuštanje poljoprivrede i poljoprivrednih površina uslijed čega je došlo do sukcesije vegetacije. Tema ovog rada je analiza promjene vegetacijskog pokrova odabranih jadranskih otoka u svjetlu recentnih socioekonomskih promjena putem daljinskih istraživanja i nekih statističkih metoda.

Abstract (english)

Croatian islands are an area of a long and intensive demographic setback that started as early as 19th century. Long history of depopulation was accompanied by structural socioeconomic changes of islands' population after the Second World War, which was conditioned by internal and external factors. Those processes had their manifestation in islands' environment, which was systematically degraded during by-gone centuries and during which the vegetation was severly damaged. Recent socioeconomic changes conditioned the abandonment of agriculture and agricultural areas which enabled the succession of vegetation. Focus of this thesis is on the analysis of change in vegetation cover on selected Adriatic islands in the light of recent socioeconomic changes. The specified was accomplished by using remote sensing methods, as well as some statistical methods.
