Abstract

Virusne infekcije mogu potaknuti sintezu polifenolnih spojeva u biljkama. U ovom radu istražen je utjecaj virusa žutog mozaika postrne repe na sintezu ukupnih polifenola, treslovina i ukupnih flavonoida u inficiranim biljkama vrste Brassica rapa L. i Brassica pekinensis Rupr. Ispitivani spojevi pokazuju brojne biološke učinke među kojima je i protuvirusna aktivnost. Fenolni spojevi sudjeluju u induciranim obrambenim odgovorima biljaka. U ovom radu dokazana je korelacija između razvoja virusne infekcije i sinteze polifenolnih spojeva koja se očituje povećanjem sadržaja ispitivanih spojeva u inficiranim biljkama u odnosu na zdrave, neinficirane biljke u vrijeme potpuno razvijene infekcije.

Abstract (english)

Viral infections can result in increased synthesis of polyphenolic compounds in infected plants. This paper investigates the effect of turnip yellow mosaic virus infection on total phenol, tannins and total flavonoids synthesis in infected species Brassica rapa L. and Brassica pekinensis Rupr. Those compounds show many biologycal effects including antiviral activity. Phenolic compounds participate in induced deffence responce in plants. This research showed corelation between development of viral infection and polyphenol synthesis that manifests in increased concentration of studied compounds in infected plants in relation to healthy, uninfected plants in a stage of fully developt infection.
