Abstract

U ovom radu analizirat će se sukob oko podjele vodnih resursa Nila. Zavala Nila predstavlja transnacionalnu regiju koja proživljava značajne političke, socioekonomske i klimatske promjene. U kontekstu tih promjena analizira se utjecaj kolonijalnog nasljeđa na postojeće strukture i aktualnih sporazuma relevantnih za podjelu vodnih resursa. Voda predstavlja egzistencijalno bitan resurs čija dostupnost mora biti konstantna i u dovoljnoj količini. U kontekstu demografskog i ekonomskog rasta, klimatskih promjena i utjecaja globalnih sila, posebice Kine, stavlja se sve veći pritisak na dostupnost vode i proizvodnju hrane. U radu su izneseni mogući scenariji odvijanja trenutne situacije. Veća politička stabilnost regije postigla bi se većom suradnjom država oko alokacije vodnih resursa, ali i postizanjem konačnog sporazuma na razini regije kojeg bi se pridržavale sve države.

Abstract (english)

This paper will analyse Nile water distributions conflict. Nile basin is a transnational region with ongoing political, socioeconomic and climate changes. In the context of those changes, analysis of impacts of colonial legacy and current agreements is given. Water is necessary resource which availability and sufficiency must be constant. In context of demographic and economic development, climate changes and influence of global powers, especially China, there is great pressure on water availability and food production. Possible scenarios are given in the paper also. Greater political stability of the region would be accomplished if countries chose to collaborate and sign a definite agreement over water allocation practices.
