Abstract	U ovom diplomskom radu smo se u prvoj cjelini upoznali s metričkim i topološkim prostorima. Detaljnije smo obradili otvorene skupove i neprekidnost funkcija. Zatim smo u drugoj cjelini obradili pojam kompaktnosti, pri tome definirali produktnu topologiju i Lebesgueov broj. Konačno, u trećoj cjelini prelazimo na pojam povezanosti uz definiranje baze topologije i prostora povezanog putevima te konačno na kontinuume.
Abstract (english)	In this diploma thesis, in the first chapter we are introduced to metric and topological spaces. We described in detail concepts of open spaces and continuous functions. The second chapter is about the concept of compactness, where we also defined product topology and Lebesgue number. Finally, the third chapter is about the concept of connectedness, with definitions of the base of a topology, path connected spaces and finally continua.
