Abstract

Imunosni odgovor potaknut izlaganjem nekom antigenu jednako je bitan kao i supresija
imunosnog odgovora. U imunosnoj reakciji kao i supresiji sudjeluju brojne stanice koje surađuju
i komuniciraju kroz različite molekularne mehanizme. U radu su sažeto opisane značajke, uloga i
mehanizmi regulacijskih stanica. Regulacijske B- i T- stanice su bitne podskupine stanica koje
održavaju i reguliraju imunotoleranciju. Nedostatak regulacijskih stanica ili bilo kojeg dijela puta
mehanizma regulacije može dovesti do upalnih procesa i autoimunih bolesti. Temeljem toga, u
zadnjih desetak godina ovo područje istraživanja je popularno u imunologiji. Bolje poznavanje
regulacijskih mehanizama nastanka i djelovanja regulacijskih stanica omogućiti će precizniju
mogućnost uporabe regulacijskih stanica u liječenju autoimunosnih bolesti, tumora te odbacivanja
presadka.

Abstract (english)

The immunological response elicited by an antigen is equally important as its supression. In a
immunological reaction and supression a lot of cells collaborate and communicate through
different molecular mechanisms. In this paper, functions, charachteristics and mechanisms of
regulatory cells are briefly explained. B i T regulatory cells are an important subset of T and B
cells that regulate and maintain immunotolerancy. A deficit of regulatory cells or any part of the
regulatory mechanism can induce inflammation and autoimmune diseases. In the last ten years
they are a popular subject of reaserch in immunology. With a better understaning of regulatory
cells, their development and function mechanisms, we can use them for curing autoimmune
diseases, tumors and transplant rejection.
