Abstract

Glavni cilj ovoga rada je usporedba sastava uzoraka pješčenjaka sa Zrinske i
Požeške gore, sličnih sedimentoloških karakteristika te paleogenske starosti, koja pruža bitan
uvid u njihove provenijencije. Analizirani su uzorci pješčenjaka uzeti sa izdanaka
paleogenskih naslaga u blizini Gornje Bačuge kod Petrinje i u dolini potoka Stupnica na
Zrinskoj gori, te sela Škrabutnik na Požeškoj gori. Iz uzoraka su izrađeni petrografski
preparati na kojima je provedena kvantitativna analiza petrografskog sastava Gazzi-
Dickinson-ovom metodom. Napravljena je usporedba rezultata mikroskopiranja te brojanja
zrna iz uzoraka sa dva istraživana područja te su podaci interpretirani u smislu regionalnog
geotektonskog smještaja. Rezultatima je dokazano da istraživani paleogenski pješčenjaci
imaju slična izvorišta materijala, koji većinom potječe od erodiranog vulkanskog luka. Te
naslage ugradile su se u akrecijsku prizmu koju danas predstavlja Sava zona. Također, postoji
mogućnost da su naslage formirane u istom taložnom bazenu.

Abstract (english)

The main objective of this thesis is the composition comparison of the seemingly
similar sanstone samples of Paleogene age from Požeška and Zrinska gora, which provides
important insights into their provenance. The collected sandstone samples from the
Palaeogene deposits of Gornja Bačuga in the vicinity of Petrinja, the and the village of
Škrabutnik atop the Požeška gora were analysed. The samples were processed into thin
sections, which were quantitively analysed using the Gazzi-Dickinson method. The final
results from the two researched areas were compared, and the data interpreted in a way it
would provide useful information about the regional geotectonic setting. The results have
proven that the researched sandstones have had similar provenance. The detrital material is
mostly made up from an eroded magmatic arc. The deposits have been embed into an
accretionary prism, which is today represented by the Sava zone. There is also a possibility
that the deposits were formed in the same sedimentation basin.
