Abstract
Kroz proces evolucije pojavili su se razni proteini s funkcijom popravka oštećenja i nepravilnosti u molekuli DNA izazvanih raznim endogenim i egzogenim faktorima. Put popravka krivo sparenih baza, put popravka ekscizijom nukleotida i direktni fotopopravak vrlo su rašireni u živom svijetu te se u ovom seminaru opisuju njihove značajke u kontekstu evolucije poput zastupljenosti u domenama života, očuvanih i divergentnih svojstava na razini strukture proteina te moguće evolucijske promjene koje su dovele do recentnih oblika ovih puteva ili poprimanja novih funkcija.
Abstract (english)
Throughout evolution, various proteins with the ability to repair damage and irregularities in the DNA molecule induced by endogenous and exogenous factors have emerged. Mismatch repair, nucleotide excision repair and direct photorepair pathways are widely present in the living world and this review describes their characteristics in the evolutionary context. Those include their prevalence in the domains of life, conserved and divergent properties at the protein structure level, possible evolutionary changes that led to the formation of those pathways in their extant form and others.
