Abstract

Čvorak (Sturnus vulgaris L.) pripada porodici čvoraka (Sturnidae). Uglavnom je to ptica nizina, a ponekad gnijezdi i na višim nadmorskim visinama. U nas gnijezdi na području kontinentalne Hrvatske. Najviše naseljava rubove svijetlih bjelogoričnih šuma, šumarke u ravničarskim poljoprivrednim područjima, parkove, vrtove, te stare voćnjake. U ovome istraživanju analiziran je uzorak od 32 gnijezda prvog gniježđenja i 27 gnijezda drugog gniježđenja na području Mokrica (Hrvatsko zagorje) tijekom 2012. godine. Dužina jaja iznosi 29,05 mm, širina 21,26 mm, volumen 6717,15 mm3, a indeks oblika jaja 1,31. Prosječan broj jaja u gnijezdu iznosio je 5,66(6), a broj čučavaca je 5,17(5). Između istraživanih parametara prvog i drugog gniježđenja nije bilo značajne razlike, osim u broju jaja p = 0,05. Nije utvrđena statistički značajna povezanost između dužine i širine jaja. Na parametre gniježđenja nije utjecao datum nesenja jaja niti orijentacija škrinjica. “Hipoteza ustupka” dokazana je samo tijekom drugog gniježđenja.

Abstract (english)

Starling (Sturnus vulgaris L.) is a bird from the family of starlings Sturnidae. Mainly lowland birds, but it also appears at higher altitudes. In our country, starling nests in the Croatian mainland. Most settled in the edges of light deciduous forests, woodlands and lowland agricultural areas, parks, gardens, and old orchards. We analyzed a sample of 32 nests of the first nesting and 27 nests of the second nesting in Mokrica (Hrvatsko Zagorje) during the 2012th. The length of eggs is 29.05 mm, breadth 21.26 mm, the volume of eggs is 6717.15 mm3 and egg shape index 1.31. The average number of eggs in the nests was 5.66(6), and the number of young to hatch was 5.17(5). Between individual nesting was not significant differences in the studied parameters except in the number of eggs p = 0.05. There was no statistically significant correlation between length and breadth. The characteristics of nesting did not affect the date of laying or orientation casket. "The hypothesis concession" was present in the second nesting.
