Abstract

Odlagalište tehnološkog otpada Petrokemije Kutina smješteno je u blizini grada Kutine, na granici PP Lonjsko polje, vrijednog močvarnog rezervata koji je na Ramsarskom popisu močvara od posebnog značaja. Na odlagalište se od 1987. do 2009. Godine odlagao fosfogips, nusprodukt proizvodnje mineralnih gnojiva. Procjenjuje se da je u tom razdoblju na odlagalištu akumulirano oko 6 milijuna tona fosfogipsa. Prema zakon, fosfogips se klasificira kao neopasni otpad, ali zbog svojeg porijekla i tendenciji da akumulira radioaktivne elemente, predstavlja potencijalnu opasnost za okoliš i ljudsko zdravlje. U ovom istraživanju voda, uzorci sedimenta s odlagališta te ulazna sirovina analizirani su geokemijskim i radiološkim metodama kako bi se utvrdila dinamika kretanja toksičnih i radioaktivnih elemenata između ulazne sirovine, fosfogipsa i okoliša.

Abstract (english)

Industrial waste landfill of factory Petrokemija Kutina is situated near the city of Kutina, on the border of Nature Park Lonjsko polje, important swamp reservation area which is on the Ramsar list as an area of special interest. From 1987. until 2009. phosphogypsum, byproduct of mineral fertilizer production, was deposited on the landfill. It is estimated that during this time 6 million tons of phosphogypsum have been accumulated on the landfill. Although by law phosphogypsum is treated as a non-dangerous industrial waste, because of its origin and tendency to accumulate radioactive elements, it represents a potential environmental and health risk. In this research, samples of water, sediment from the landfill and feedstock were analyzed using geochemical and radiological methods as to determine the dynamics and movement of toxic and radioactive elements between feedstock, phosphogypsum and the environment.
