Abstract

U Hrvatskoj se odvija porast proizvodnje uzgojne morske ribe. Najčešće vrste koje se uzgajaju su orada (S. aurata), brancin (D. labrax) i atlantska plavoperajna tuna (T. thynnus). Riba se najčešće uzgaja u plutajućim kavezima. Jedne od najbitnijih stavki pri uzgoju ribe su odabir lokacije i ishrana ribe. Bježanje ribe iz kaveza nije rijetka pojava te dolazi do interakcije izbjeglih riba sa divljim populacijama. U kontaktu s divljim populacijama uzgojne ribe na njih mogu utjecati tako da se bore za prostor i resurse, prenoseći genetski materijal i parazite i bolesti. Uzgoj ribe može imati utjecaja i na okoliš te ostale morske organizme putem eutrofikacije koja se događa zbog viška nutrijenata od nepojedene hrane i produkata metabolizma uzgojnih riba. Uzgoj ribe doprinosi razvoju ekonomije, naročito otočkih područja te smanjuje pritisak na izlov divlje ribe.

Abstract (english)

Nowadays in Croatia, there is an increase in marine fish farming. The most common species being farmed are gilt-head sea bream (S. aurata), sea bass (D. labrax) and Atlantic bluefin tuna (T. thynnus). Farming is mostly carried out in floating cages. One of the most important things in fish farming is selection of suitable locations and feeding of fish. Fish escaping from cages is not rare and while inhabiting the wild environment they can interact with wild populations. The escapees can compete for the same space and resources, mate with wild fish passing their genetic material and transmit diseases and parasites. Fish farming can affect the enviroment and other marine organisms by causing the process of eutrophication due to the excess of nutrients coming from uneaten food and metabolic products of farmed fish. Fish farming improves the economy, especially that of the islands and it lowers the pressure on catches of wild fish.
