Veliku prijetnju biološkoj raznolikosti vrsta predstavljaju strane unesene vrste. Mala aleksandra (Psittacula krameri) izuzetno je otporna i prilagodljiva vrsta papige. Namjernim ili ne namjernim puštanjem iz kaveza, uspostavila je populacije diljem svijeta. U mnogim europskim gradovima, gdje joj je osiguran smještaj i siguran izvor hrane, predstavlja veliki problem autohtonim vrstama životinja i biljaka te uzrokuje poljoprivredne štete. Non – native introduced species regard as a major threat to biodiversity. Ring - necked parakeet (Psittacula krameri) is an extremely resistant and adaptive parrot species. By intentional or unintentionally releasing from the cage, it has established populations around the world. In many European cities, where it is provided with accommodation and a secure source of food, it poses a major threat for native animal and plant species, also causing agricultural damage.
