U Hrvatskoj obitava 11 vrsta iz porodice Lacertidae: živorodna gušterica (Zootoca vivipara), velebitska gušterica (Lacerta horvathi), oštroglava gušterica (Lacerta oxycephala), veliki zelembać (Lacerta trilineata), livadna gušterica (Lacerta agilis), mosorska gušterica (Lacerta mosorensis), zelembać (Lacerta viridis), zidna gušterica (Podarcis muralis), krška gušterica (Podarcis melisellensis), primorska gušterica (Podarcis sicula) i mrki gušter (Algyroides nigropunctatus). Što se tiče... More prehrane, velikim dijelom ih se opisuje kao insektivorne generaliste i oportuniste te neke vrste aktivno tragaju za hranom. Često je izbjegavanje hranjenja mravima. Kanibalizam je raširen, ali rijedak te se javlja u otočnim populacijama ili u uvjetima nedostatka hrane. Herbivorija se također javlja uglavnom u otočnim populacijama prilikom nedostatka ostale hrane. Prehrambene navike su relativno dobro istražene, no velikim dijelom podatci ne dolaze iz Hrvatske te nema podataka od domaćim populacijama. Less

Abstract (english)

There are 11 species from the genus Lacertidae that live in Croatia: viviparous lizard (Zootoca vivipara), Horvath's rock lizard (Lacerta horvathi), sharp-snouted rock lizard (Lacerta oxycephala), Balkan green lizad (Lacerta trilineata), sand lizard (Lacerta agilis), Mosor rock lizard (Lacerta mosorensis), eastern green lizard (Lacerta viridis), common wall lizard (Podarcis muralis), Dalmatian wall lizard (Podarcis melisellensis), Italian wall lizard (Podarcis sicula) and Dalmatian... More Algyroides (Algyroides nigropunctatus). Regarding their diet, they are most commonly described as insectivorous, generalist and oportunistic feeder, while some species are described as active foragers. They often avoid feeding on ants. Cannibalism is present in most species, however it is uncommon and only happens in island populations or in times of severe famine. Herbivory is also a trait that only shows itself only in island populations in absence of other food items. The dietary habits of these species are well researched, however, a large portion of this data doesn't originate from Coratia and thus there is no information regarding native Croatian populations.
