Abstract

U sklopu ovog diplomskog rada pripravljen je konjugat kolesterola i D-glukoze, kojim se
mogu modificirati liposomi u svrhu ciljane dostave lijeka stanicama raka. Tako modificarni
liposomi obećavajuća su metoda selektivnog i učinkovitog tretiranja raka s minimalnim ili
nikakvim nuspojavama. Konjugat se sastoji od dvije jedinice, kolesterola i D-glukoze, koje su
međusobno povezane trietilen-glikolnom poveznicom. Ispitana je uspješnost dva predložena
sintetska puta. Rad uključuje izolaciju i karakterizaciju prirodnih spojeva te uobičajene
metode sintetske organske kemije. Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je što jednostavnijim sintetskim
putem uz što veće iskorištenje doći do ciljnog konjugata. Međuprodukti sinteze, kao i konačni
produkt, okarakterizirani su spektroskopskim tehnikama (IR, NMR).

Abstract (english)

In this diploma thesis, a conjugate of cholesterol and D-glucose was prepared, which can be
used to modify liposomes for the purpose of targeted drug delivery to cancer cells. Liposomes
modified in this way are a promising method of selective and effective cancer treatment with
minimal or no side effects. The conjugate consists of two units, cholesterol and D-glucose,
which are connected to each other by a triethylene glycol link. The performance of two
proposed synthetic routes was tested. The work includes the isolation and characterization of
natural compounds and the usual methods of synthetic organic chemistry. The goal of this
thesis is to obtain the target conjugate by the simplest possible synthetic route with the
greatest possible yield. The prepared intermediates, as well as the final product, were
characterized by spectroscopic techniques (IR, NMR).
