Abstract

Na području sela Gornji Muć, uz potok Zmijavac, uzorkovan je sloj donjotrijaskog fosilifernog vapnenca. Ove su naslage prethodno klasificirane kao naslage „gornjega skita“. Prikupljen je sloj s jasno vidljivim makrofosilima amonita i puževa kako bi se točnije odredili makrofosili te kako bi se napravili izbrusci za daljnje analize. Makrofosili su uglavnom loše očuvani kao kamene jezgre, otisci i skulpturirane kamene jezgre. Amoniti su određeni kao pripadnici roda Tirolites iz Tirolites cassianus horizonta. Mikroskopskim pregledom stijene utvrđeno je da se radi o biomikritu, to jest vekstonu, taloženom u plitkomorskom okolišu s terigenim utjecajem.

Abstract (english)

In the area around Upper Muć village, along the Zmijavac brook, a fossiliferous limestone bed of Lower Triassic age was sampled. These beds were formerly known as „Upper Scythian“ beds. The sampled limestone bed has visible macrofossils, including ammonites and gastropodes. Macrofossils are mostly poorly preserved as internal molds, external molds, and casts. Ammonite specimens were determined as Tirolites, belonging to the Tirolites cassianus horizon. Microanalysis results showed that this limestone is a biomicrite or weckestone deposited in a relatively shallow marine environment, with some influence of terrigenous input.
