Abstract

Potočni rak (Austropotamobius torrentium) je autohtona europska vrsta slatkovodnih rakova iz porodice Astacidae koja nastanjuje potoke na višim nadmorskim visinama s kamenim dnom i velikim brojem zaklona. Primarni cilj ovog istraživanja je bio prikupiti i analizirati podatke o rakovima i staništu kako bi dobili uvid o populacijskim značajkama potočnog raka u prirodnom i antropogeno utjecanom staništu, kao i istražiti postoje li razlike u mjerenim parametrima (gustoća populacije, morfometrijske značajke rakova, odnos spolova, kondicija) između populacije u prirodnom toku potoka Dolje i populacija koje su pod antropogenim utjecajem u nizvodnim dijelovima potoka Dolje. Rakovi su lovljeni pomoću ručno izrađenih vrša u periodu od 2. lipnja do 9. lipnja 2015. godine. Ukupno je ulovljeno 70 rakova, od čega 39 mužjaka i 31 ženka. Svakom ulovljenom raku je određen spol, izmjerena masa i sedam morfometrijskih značajki. Također, svim ulovljenim jedinkama je određena kondicija tijela. Procjena veličine populacija određena je Schnabel te Schumacher i Eschmeyer metodom. Ustanovljeno je da se mužjaci i ženke značajno razlikuju u masi, širini 1. začanog kolutića, veličini kliješta, kao i kondiciji tijela te da postoje značajne razlike u morfometrijskim značajkama rakova iz različitih lokacija. Najveća procijenjena veličina populacije je u prirodnom dijelu toka potoka Dolje gdje nema antropogenog utjecaja, a najmanja na kanaliziranom dijelu. Dobiveni rezultati potvrđuju veliku osjetljivost potočnih rakova na promjene u okolišu te upućuju na veliku važnost i potrebu očuvanja prirodnih staništa ove vrste.

Abstract (english)

The stone crayfish (Austropotamobius torrentium) is a native European crayfish species from family Astacidae inhabiting streams at higher altitudes with rocky bottoms and large number of shelters. The primary objective of this study was to collect and analyze data on crayfish and their habitat in order to get insight into the stone crayfish population characteristics in the natural and anthropogenicaly affected habitat, as well as to investigate wether there were differences in measured parameters (population density, morphometrical crayfish characteristics, sex ratio, body condition) between population in the natural course of the Dolje Stream and populations that are under antrophogenic influence in the downstream parts of the Dolje Stream. The crayfish were caught by hand made baited traps from June 2nd until June 9th 2015. A total of 70 crayfish were caught, of which 39 males and 31 females. For each trapped crayfish, sex, weight and seven morphometrical characteristics were recorded. Also, the body condition was determined for all individuales. Population size was estimated by Schnabel and Schumacher and Eschmeyer method. It was found that males and females differ significantly in weight, width of the first abdominal segment, size of claws and body condition. Also it was found that there were significant differences in morphometrical characteristics of stone crayfish from different localities. The biggest population size was estimated in the natural flow of the Dolje Stream where there are no anthropogenic influences, and the lowest in the canalised part of the stream, situated in the settlement. The results confirm high sensitivity of the stone crayfish to enviromental changes and indicate the great importance and necessity to preserve natural habitats of this species.
