Abstract

Ateroskleroza je, nažalost, prevladavajuća kardiovaskularna bolest koju karakterizira nakupljanje masnih naslaga u stijenkama arterija i koja značajno pridonosi problemima povezanim sa srcem. Matematički model obrađen u ovom radu objašnjava dinamiku upale i njezin razvoj kroz vrijeme, čime na jednostavan način ulazimo u zamršenu igru bioloških procesa koji su u pozadini bolesti.

Abstract (english)

Atherosclerosis is, unfortunately, very prevalent cardiovascular disease characterizes by accumulation of fatty deposits in arterial wall and has very high impact on heart health. Mathematical model studied in this thesis describes dynamics of the inflammation and its propagation through time and with it we are delving in intricate play of biological processes on which disease is based.
