Abstract
Catalanovi brojevi javljaju se kao rješenje niza kombinatornih brojeva, kao što su problem triangulacije konveksnih mnogokuta, putovi ispod dijagonale u cjelobrojnoj mreži, Dyckovi planinski putovi, problem zagrađivanja, broj binarnih stabala s n vrhova, itd. U radu su obradena važnija svojstva Catalanovih brojeva te su opisani kombinatorni problemi koji se uz njih vežu.
Abstract (english)
Catalan numbers occur as a solution to a set of combinatorial problems, such as triangulation of convex polygons, diagonal avoiding lattice paths, Dyck mountain ranges, parenthesizing problem, number of binary threes with n vertices, etc. In this diploma thesis, the most important properties of Catalan numbers are discussed and the combinatorial problems associated with them are described.
