Abstract

Otok Krk poznat je kao ekološki osviješten otok na kojemu je ukupna količina razvrstanog otpada 2022. godine činila 62% ukupnog otpada. Prema tome ističe se kao jedan od ekološki najosvještenijih dijelova Hrvatske. Godine 2021. usvojena je strategija "Zero Waste" s ciljem postizanja 70% odvojenog prikupljanja otpada. Na otoku se nalazi sedam reciklažnih dvorišta u kojima se razvrstani otpad obrađuje i reciklira dok se onaj nerazvrstani dio otpada odlaže na odlagalištu Treskavac. Prikupljanje otpada se odvija pomoću sustava "od vrata do vrata" pod kojim se podrazumijeva da korisnici posjeduju vlastite kante za odvajanje otpada te se odvoz otpada obavlja po ranije utvrđenom rasporedu. U radu se analizira trenutno stanje gospodarenja otpadom na otoku Krku te moguća rješenja problema koji se često javljaju pri gospodarenju otpadom.

Abstract (english)

The island of Krk is known as an environmentally conscious island where the total amount of sorted waste in 2022 accounted for 62% of the total waste. Therefore, it stands out as one of the most environmentally conscious parts of Croatia. In 2021, the Zero Waste strategy was adopted with the aim of achieving 70% separate waste collection. There are seven recycling yards on the island where sorted waste is processed and recycled, while the unsorted part of the waste is disposed of at the Treskavac landfill. Waste collection takes place using the "door-to-door" system, which means that users have their own bins for separating waste, and waste removal is carried out according to a previously established schedule. This paper will focus on the analysis of the current state of waste management on the island of Krk and present possible solutions to the problems that often arise in waste management.
