Abstract

Istražene su reakcije kationa prirodnih Cinchona alkaloida, kinina (Q) i cinhonina (Cn), s cink(II) kloridom i cink(II) bromidom. Sinteza je uključivala nadslojavanje polaznih spojeva otopljenih u različitim otapalima i izolaciju kristalnog produkta. Izolirana su dva literaturno poznata spoja [QZnCl3] i [CnZnCl3]·MeOH, i jedan novi spoj [CnZnBr3]·MeOH. Novodobivenom spoju [CnZnBr3]·MeOH struktura je određena iz podataka rendgenske difrakcije u monokristalu, a literaturno poznatim spojevima na temelju rendgenske difrakcije u prahu. Svi spojevi okarakterizirani su infracrvenom spektroskopijom. Elementni sastav priređenih spojeva potvrđen je apsorpcijskom atomskom spektroskopijom. Termička stabilnost priređenih spojeva ispitana je termogravimetrijskom analizom. Feroelektrični testovi provedeni mjerenjem polarizacije u ovisnosti o električnom polju na tankim pastilama spoja [CnZnCl3]·MeOH potvrdili su postojanje remanentne polarizacije u ovom spoju.

Abstract (english)

The reactions of natural Cinchona alkaloid cations, quinine (Q) and cinchonine (Cn), with zinc(II) chloride and zinc(II) bromide, were investigated. The synthesis included layering of the starting compounds dissolved in different solvents and isolation of the crystalline product. Two literature compounds [QZnCl3] and [CnZnCl3]·MeOH and a new compound [CnZnBr3]·MeOH were isolated. The structure of [CnZnBr3]·MeOH was determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and of literature compounds from X-ray powder diffraction analysis. All compounds were characterized by infrared spectroscopy. The elemental composition was confirmed by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The thermal stability of the compounds was tested by thermogravimetric analysis. Ferroelectric tests performed by measuring polarization vs. electric field on thin pellets of the [CnZnCl3]·MeOH compound confirmed the presence of remanent polarization.
