Abstract
Na području Vejalnice (središnja Medvednica) je u miocenskim glinovitim vapnencima zabilježen „pteropodni događaj“ i u tu svrhu je istražen profil kroz naslage koje sadrže pteropode. Popratna fauna (foraminifere, ostrakodi, spikule spužvi, ostatci bodljikaša, zubi riba) izdvojena je metodom muljenja, a prikupljeni su i makrofosili mekušaca. Paralelno s ovim istraživanjem uzeti su i uzorci za druge analize, te je na temelju nanoplanktona određena srednjobadenska starost uzoraka, a okoliš je određen kao izrazito dubokomorski.
Abstract (english)
In the Vejalnica area (central Medvednica) Miocene clayey limestones bear evidence of "pteropod event" and for this purpose a profile was surveyed through deposits containing Miocene pteropods. Supporting fauna (foraminifers, ostracods, sponge spicule, echinoderm remains and fish teeth) were isolated by the wet-sieving technique, and macrofossils of molluscs were also collected. Based on nannoplankton analysis, the age of samples was determined as the middle Badenian, and the environment was defined as the deep-sea environment.
