Abstract

Svojim djelovanjem, čovjek često narušava ravnotežu slatkovodnih ekosustava, što rezultira eutrofikacijom i ubrzanim propadanjem vodenih staništa. U ovom radu razmatrane su tri osnovne metode restauracije slatkovodnih ekosustava - fizičke, kemijske i biološke, te na njihove prednosti i nedostaci. Fizičkim metodama se uklanja sediment/voda iz jezera, kemijskim se pokušava smanjiti koncentracija nutijenata u stupcu vode primjenom kemijskih sredstava, a biološkima se manipulira sastavom biocenoze. Najčešće se primjenjuje manipulacija ribama i ponovna uspostava makrofita. Cilj restauracije je uspostaviti prevlast submerznih makrofita nad fitoplanktonom, čime se postiže povratak bistre vode i stabilnog ekosustava.

Abstract (english)

Human population oftenly distorts the balance of freshwater ecosystems, which results in eutrophication and accelerated degradation of aquatic habitats. This paper considers three basic methods of restauration – physical, chemical and biological, and their advantages and disadvantages. Physical methods are used to remove the sediment/water from the lake, chemical methods are used to reduce a concentration of the nutrients in the water column by applying chemicals, and biological methods are used to manipulate the composition of biocenosis. Usually a fish manipulation and reestablishment of macrophites are applyed The goal of restauration is to achieve a predominance of submerged macrophytes over phytoplankton, which results in the return of water transparency and balanced ecosystem.
