Abstract

Stjenovite morske obale Hrvatske značajne su po halofitnoj vegetaciji koja raste na uskom obalnom području, uz samo more. Na ovom staništu biljke su izložene snažnom mehaničkom djelovanju valova i vjetra, velikim kolebanjima temperature, nedostatku tla i visokoj koncentraciji natrijevog klorida. Zajednice ovih staništa obuhvaćene su u razred Chritmo-Limonietea i rasprostranjene su na području Sredozemlja i atlantskih obala južne Europe. No, kako su neke od biljnih vrsta koje rastu unutar zajednica ovog razreda istočnojadranski endemi, ovaj tip vegetacije lokalno je specifičan, a k tome niz vrsta nalazi se na crvenom popisu. Ovaj je osjetljivi obalni ekosustav u posljednje vrijeme zbog turizma pod povećanim antropogenim utjecajem te se zbog svoje velike vrijednosti treba očuvati.

Abstract (english)

Maritime rocks in Croatia represent a significant habitat spread in the narrow coastal belt, where a unique halophilous vegetation is developed. Plants in such habitats are exposed to strong mechanical disturbance by wind and waves, broad fluctuations in temperature, scarcity of soil and high concentrations of sodium chloride. Communities of this habitat are included in the class Chritmo-Limonietea and are widespread on the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts of Southern Europe. However, as some plants occuring within the communities of this class are eastern Adriatic endemics, this type of vegetation is locally specific and a number of species are on the Red List. This sensitive coastal ecosystem has been recently exposed to considerable anthropogenic stress due to tourism. However, due to its great biodiversity value, it needs to be actively conserved.
