Abstract

U radu je pobliže proučena politička i strateška važnost geografskog položaja Iloka, te istraženo kako je taj specifičan geografski smještaj utjecao na razvoj grada od nastanka pa sve do današnjih dana i proučeno koliko je Iloku taj političko-geografski smještaj donosio pozitivnih, a koliko negativnih utjecaja. Grad je u prošlosti zbog svog geografskog položaja često bio na udaru raznih osvajača i ratnih događanja, te je u mnogo slučajeva grad Ilok bio prva linija obrane domovine Hrvatske. U radu je obuhvaćen i istražen povijesno-geografski razvoj Iloka, stanovništvo, poljoprivreda, industrija, turizam, klimatske prilike, reljef i tlo, te događanja iz Domovinskog rata. Svaki od ovih dijelova sam zasebno istražio i opisao, te stavio poneku fotografiju ili tablicu kako bi se bolje prikazale, predočile i istražile glavne značajke političko-geografskog položaj Iloka.

Abstract (english)

In this paper political and strategic importance of geographical location of Ilok was closely studied, and explored how the specific geographical location influenced on the development of the city from the begginings to the present day, and studied how many positive and negative impacts that political and geographical location brought to Ilok. In the past, city was often attacked by various invaders and war, due to its geographical position, and in many cases city of Ilok was first line of defense of Croatia homeland. In the paper was covered and researched historical and geographical development of Ilok, population, agriculture, industry, tourism, climate, releif and soil, and the events of the Homeland war. Each of these components I studied and described separately, and put some photograps or tables, in order to better represent and explore political and geographical location of Ilok.
