Abstract

Kanada je zemlja velike površine i druga je u svijetu po veličini. Takve velike prostore obilježava izrazita raznolikost klime i vegetacije, ali i velika raznolikost biljnih i životinjskih vrsta. Iako je kanadska borealna šuma dobro sačuvana i smanjuje se njezina deforestacija, broj stanovnika Kanade je u posljednjih 5 godina porastao za 1,5 milijuna, pa se tako infrastruktura širi i tajge postaju ugroženije. U ovom radu ću objasniti kako klimatske promjene, razvoj gradova, invazivne vrste i druge uglavnom ljudski uvjetovane pojave utječu na cjelokupni život kanadske flore i faune. Proučavat ću i kakvo je stanje kanadske bioraznolikosti danas i koje se mjere trebaju poduzeti da bi oni najosjetljiviji, ali i ostali ekosustavi Kanade bili sačuvani za buduće generacije.

Abstract (english)

Canada is a country that has a great area and it is the second largest country in the world. Such large areas are characterized not only by diverse climate and vegetation, but also high biodiversity within flora and fauna species. Although Canada's boreal forest is well preserved and not being as destructed as it used to be, the number of inhabitants in Canadian settlements has grown for 1,5 million in the last few years, so the infrastructure is spreading and the taiga is being threatened. In this work I will explain how climate change, the sprawl of urban places, invasive species and other phenomena mostly caused by human species effect the overall life of Canadian plants and animals. I will also study the today's condition of biodiversity in Canada and what are some steps that should be done to keep the most sensitive ecosystems, but as well other ecosystems in Canada preserved for the future generations.
