Abstract

U radu se opisuje geopolitička važnost fosilnih energenata: nafte, ugljena i prirodnog plina. Već se desetljećima vodi borba nad strateškim zalihama nafte i plina u svijetu. Isto će se nastaviti i u budućnosti s prirodnim resursima koji su trenutno najzastupljeniji u uporabi. Za sad su to još uvijek fosilna goriva, za koje nekoliko najjačih gospodarstava svijeta vodi bitku za nadzor nad zalihama i transportnim putovima. Politika je u službi gospodarskog razvoja podložna beskompromisnom djelovanju u svrhu kontrole strateških zaliha tih energenata koji su izvori moći, ali i sukoba. Hrvatska ima potencijala unutar Europske unije ostvariti napredak na temelju energetike.

Abstract (english)

This paper describes the geopolitical importance of fossil fuels – oil, coal and natural gas. There has been a struggle over strategic use of oil and gas reserves for decades everywhere around the world. The same will continue in the future with the natural resources that are currently the most common in use. A few of the most powerful economic countries in the world are in a battle over a control for remaining fossil fuel reserves and its transportation routes. Politics has to, as a part of economic development, take uncompromising actions in order to control strategic energy reserves, which are not just a source of power, but of conflicts too. Croatia has a great potential within the European Union to make developmental progress based on the energy.
