Abstract

Kvarner je poznata turistička destinacija s dugom tradicijom turizma, a danas jedno od najvažniji nautičkih područja na Jadranu. Unatoč brojnim komparativnim prednostima prirodnih resursa još nije zauzeo pripadajuće mjesto na tržištu nautičkog turizma Sredozemlja. Budući razvitak nautičkog turizma s njegovim komplementarnim djelatnostima treba promatrati kao pokretač svekolikog socijalno-gospodarskog razvoja kvarnerskog priobalja i otoka, te ga pravilno vrednovati u skladu s nosivim kapacitetom geografske osnove prema načelima održivog razvoja.

Abstract (english)

Kvarner is a popular tourist destination with a long tradition of tourism, and today one of the most important maritime areas in the Adriatic. In spite of numerous comparative advantages, Kvarnerian nautical tourism still has not taken the right place on the market of Mediterranean nautical tourism. Future development of nautical tourism with its complementary activities should be considered as the driving force for social and economic development of Kvarnerian coastal area and islands, and it should be correctly dimensioned in accordance with carrying capacity of the geographical basis and sustainable development principles.
