Abstract

U radu su prikazani rezultati promatranja mužjaka Ramphastos vitellinus u zagrebačkom Zoološkom vrtu provedenog periodički (u vremenskim intervalima od 15 sekundi) metodom fokalnog uzorkovanja, uz prethodnu izradu etograma. Cilj je dati prilog poznavanju ponašanja vrste kroz istraživanje učestalosti određenog načina ponašanja (često ponovljenog ponašanja) u zatočeništvu kao i dobiti podatke za unaprjeđenje držanja životinja u Zoološkom vrtu grada Zagreba kao i drugim zoološkim vrtovima. Glavni rezultati govore u prilog tome da jedinka u zarobljeništvu manje kreće i više uređuje, a oko polovice vremena dnevne aktivnosti provodi u nekom od ponašanja koje je statično. Ujedno je ustanovljena razlika udjela pojedinih oblika ponašanja kao i povezanost nekih u redoslijedu pojave.

Abstract (english)

In this thesis was made the observation of male Ramphastos vitellinus in Zagreb Zoo Garden with methods focal and time sampling. The aim of the observation is to give a contribution to better expert understanding of the male of Ramphastos vitellinus behaviour by investigating its frequently repeated behaviour in captivity, and also to get necessary data for improving keeping of those animals in the Zagreb zoo, as well as in other zoos. The observed animal in captivity moves less and spends more time in grooming itself. It also spends approximately half of its time during the day staying at place; in some of statical behaviours. It has also been noted the difference between some types of its behaviour, as well as correlation of those types of behaviour in the sequence of their occurence.
