Abstract

Dinoflagelati su fitoplanktonski organizmi. Prilagođeni su različitim staništima: od pelagičkih do bentonskih staništa, od umjerenih do toplih mora, od ušća do slatke vode. Važni su primarni producenti, ali su i glavni uzročnici cvjetanja mora. Mnoge vrste dinoflagelata stvaraju različite toksine. Neke vrste uzrokuju toksična ili netoksična cvjetanja mora (poznatije kao „crvene plime“). Toksini koje stvaraju mogu biti veoma toksični te djeluju i u vrlo malim količinama, brzo se mogu prenositi... More kroz hranidbeni lanac te se tako utječu na ljude. Trovanja toksinima mogu rezultirati probavnim smetnjama, neurološkim oštećenjima ili i smrti u najtežim slučajevima. Cvatnje toksičnih dinoflagelata osim utjecaja na morski ekosustav (uzrokuju masovni pomor riba, ptica,morskih sisavaca) stvaraju i socioekonomske probleme jer negativno utječu na ribolov i marikulturu. Dinoflagelati izazivaju razna trovanja kao što su paralitičko trovanje školjkama, neurotoksično trovanje školjkama, dijaretično trovanje školjkama, ciguatera trovanje ribom; a toksini koji ih uzrokuju su saksitoksin, brevetoksin, ciguatoksin, maitotoksin, okadaična kiselina, pektenotoksini, dinopsistoksini, yessotoksin. Zbog utjecaja na sigurnost morske hrane, bioaktivnosti, potencijalnih medicinskih i drugih primjena dinoflagelatni toksini su vrlo interesantni za istraživanja. Less

Abstract (english)

Dinoflagellates are phytoplanktonic organisms. They are adapted to a variety of habitats: from pelagic to benthic, from temperate to tropical seas, and from estuaries to freshwater. Many dinoflagellate species can produce various toxins. Some dinoflagellate species form massive toxic or non-toxic harmful algal blooms (commonly known as “red tides”). More extremely toxic and many of them are effective at far lower dosages, toxins can be quickly carried up the food chain and indirectly passed onto humans. The poisoning can result in gastrointestinal illness, permanent neurological damage, or even death. Harmful algal blooms, except for the effects on the marine ecosystem (causing mass mortality of fish, birds, marine mammals) they produce also socioeconomic problems that adversely affecting the fishing and mariculture. Dinoflagellates cause: paralytic shellfish poisoning, neurotoxic shellfish poisoning, diarrhetic shellfish poisoning, ciguatera fish poisoning, and toxins that cause them are saxitoxin, brevetoxin, ciguatoxin, maitotoxin, okadaic acid, pectenotoxins, dinophsistoxins, yessotoxin.
